Purple Light podcast

I had coffee with Brandon Lee last week, and I learned that he has a really interesting podcast called “Purple Light.” It is about former SAF servicemen transitioning into civilian careers after their national service days.

As someone who also went through that entire reservist shebang, the stories and experiences he covered on the podcast resonated with me and brought back memories from my own NS days.

But what struck me was these guys’ incredible resilience and tenacity as they took on the massive challenge of reintegrating into the workforce after being in a controlled, disciplined environment like the SAF. It’s no easy feat, but Brandon’s podcast highlights how they made it happen.

I have to admit, I couldn’t resist cracking a joke with Brandon about doing an “adult version” podcast if I were to follow his lead – I pitched the very mature title of “CB Leaf”…you army boys know what I’m talking about! 😂

“Purple Light” offers a raw, honest look at our former service members’ unique struggles when hanging up their uniforms. But more importantly, it celebrates their grit, drive and ability to pivot into new careers and chapters.

So, do yourselves a favour and check out this podcast! Whether you served or not, I guarantee you’ll find the stories engaging and be inspired by the resilience of these individuals. You can pick up some valuable life lessons along the way.

Major kudos to Brandon for giving these unsung stories a platform and showing the world that our boys from national service are a force to be reckoned with in any arena they step into! Let’s show some support for this meaningful initiative.
