Company culture tips from the office

If you don’t look to The Office for guidance when it comes to company culture, that’s understandable. It’s a hilarious mockumentary designed to induce secondhand awkwardness, which is not exactly the vibe you’re going for in your own workplace, right? But for fans of the show, there are some handy lessons we can take away.

Take team-building exercises, for example. Retention rates at companies with a strong learning culture are around 30 to 50 per cent higher than at companies without, so in this case, you can take a cue from Michael Scott; when he held a conference room meeting to teach the team about Diwali, he showed support for diversity and inclusion while giving his employees an opportunity to learn together.
